Lluís Barbadillo among the artists of the international exhibition “I have a Dream”, a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

Lluís Barbadillo has participated in the collective itinerant exhibition “I have a Dream”, a tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

The exhibition has been on display in various North American cities between 2009 and January 2010, including New York, Detroit, Atlanta, Montgomery, Memphis and Chicago, and has been visited by over 200,000 people.

“I have a Dream” brings together the works of over 70 artists from all over the world, as well as writings by international writers, thinkers and scientists, all in the service of updating Martin Luther King’s message. The exhibition aimed to pay an artistic and cultural tribute to the famous speech that King gave in 1963 before the Lincoln Memorial in Washington.

The works included in this project were created specifically for the exhibition and feature contributions from artists such as Hamilton, Pazos or Louise Bourgeois. In addition to being an artistic manifestation, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on human rights, emphasizing that “there is still a long way to go” in the social sphere.

Lluís Barbadillo’s contribution to the exhibition is a visual representation of his interpretation of Dr. King’s “dream” with his artwork titled “Un sueño volando”, from 2008. He joins a list of other internationally renowned artists such as Richard Hamilton, Amparo Sard, Arranz-Bravo, Louise Bourgeois, Kcho, José Manuel Ciria, Marlene Dumas, Luis Gordillo, Martin Puryear, José Manuel Ballester, and Andreu Alfaro.
